I decided to try and list 52 countries. Assuming I would quickly fail. But I can name a lot more than 52. So in my list I just said Africa and the Caribbean instead of breaking it down to a more detailed level. Even then I still could name more than 52. I wonder if we will go to the places I've listed?

Postcard 06 Belgium

Belgium. So after thinking about it. I've come up with a list

So where did I go with my card?
Poirot! He is a legend. I kinda love him a lot

The little grey cells had a work out on this one

I really liked how my France card turned out with my men as the colours of the flag

So how do I make it the same but different

I painted the middle with yellow water colour paint mixed with pva glue

I used the aqua crayon without water for the red. Then I cut out a picture of poirot. Once again the image was too small Grrrr I need to learn! So I decided to add the moustaches

Postcard 05 France

I have decided to do two post cards from France Ohh Lala

I have a couple of reasons for this

I bought a pack of Paris based post it notes a couple of days before i decided to do the challenge - i knew France had to come up eventually!

and Even though i hate football i am in love with 2 footballers! Eric Cantona and zinidine zidane, they had to feature some how.

Now as you know i have been away minus anything remotely crafy so had to catch up once i got home

My Card decisions also be came complcated by an article saw an article in the Sunday times travel section about a carnival.

Card 1 - Paris

Paris Post-its put to good use (i have ruined this card by accident so i will re do it soon)

Back of card more post it notes and the airmail label is from my trusty pack of writing paper from Watersones

Background page, initially i was going to print off some old posters from the internet like Chat Noir etc etc but then i decided to paint the page white (like you do!) for some reason i also put out black paint so decided to give it ago and i actually like it!

you can't tell on thos photo but on the white background i used the flower stamp to make indents, then after i'd painted the tower it looked a bit shit! so while the paint was wet i added more flower stamps no extra paint just stamped away like a mad woman!

i think it broke the badly painted tower up ( i didn't sketch it first as the white paint was still wet i just made it up as i went along looking at a tiny image of the tower)

Card 2

This card is going to be from S who is at a carnival in Nice.o I've been adding to my carnival back ground. I've used some aqua pencils for the top sunflowers and yellow water colour paint and pva for the bottom ones

I also found a flower stamp so used the same yellow paint to stamp some down the side of the page.
FINISHED page and Card...apart from the yellow blob bottom right corner i am quite happy with it!

Note to self keep pages simple!

Postcard 04 China

This came out while I was away. I keep getting sucked in to the dragon.

Last night I cut out an airmail label from some note paper I got in waterstones

Today I painted the front of the card with crimson water colour painted mixed with pva glue

Yes Neil Buchanan is my biggest art influence.

I've printed off a dragon image that I'm thinking of trying to draw on the card

I thought these cards would all end up collages but I'm going to try and mix it up a bit.

I have no craft space so I was sat in bed newspaper balanced on the bed while I painted! Living on the edge.

Ok so what else do I think of. The Brazilian denim shops in Florida. Ok we might be getting somewhere and what made it Brazilian other than the name. Ahhh the flag!

I've been to Spain a lot so I've used some pictures I took last time I went ok it was Lanzarote but it's close enough

I am quite happy with this.

I don't consider myself arty in any way I take photos I doodle and that's my limit

I saw some of my friends had joined. In and I thought sod it I wanna play!

So the challenge is create oust cards a story and 2 characters

Since I saw the post my mind has been working over time.

Country 1 was Austria. This is a country I have visited twice I was only in second and third year at high school I remember the highlight was finding a McDonald's oh how cultured we were!

It's a beautiful country and I want to find some of my photos to decorate my background.

Inspired by my friend sue. If I've been to the country of the week I want to include pictures from there.

Ok post card. I'm really not happy with it but I will share

UPDATE 20/01/12 - i go on holiday tomorrow but as i'm actually on the computer i wanted to flesh out my post a little bit.

Yes you guessed correctly my inspiration is Klimt and the painting Hope.

I used to have a posted of the kiss on my wall and i even have a book about Klimt, i was so inspired by his work when i was doing my textiles GCSE (i got an E - says it ll really!)

i got a bit giddy colouring in with pencil crayons i'd got free from H&M (yes the clothes shop) which was just on a scrap of note pad paper then i started with the buttons, on my way home from work i popped into Paperchase (never a good idea) and i might have accidently purchased some pro markers.

i prob should have shopped around bought on line but i don't care they got me what i wanted, the pack i've got is comic book 2 ( it think) i used the poppy for the background, and a brown that has turned out quite gold got the circles. and i left the boobies out!

i also got a fab book in the sale to use, i was just going to use an existing note book i had but the postcards are almost the same size this pad has a spiralbound spine so room for extra pages and the pages are almost card like with a fab (almost) square lines whicgh i'm happy to have showing.

i haven't looked for the Austia pictures yet. why did they not have digital cameras back then?!

the flag is just printed out and the pen is a calligraphy from a pack i got from asda i think you get 8 in a pack 2 blue, red, green and black.

My facebook is not playing tonight so posted here, but will add to the group album as soon as i can. Because i used a cheat shot for my promt yesterday i took a real pic today, i'm stood waiting to cross the road outside work, i turned it sepia to make it look a bit prettier!!! I have been looking for happiness all my life!!! well for the past 2 days trying to find a shot to take and could i find one could i heck!!! well after braving Slimming world after a week off and basically eating what i wanted i couldn't face the scales and to make it worse i couldn't wi 1st!!! but i amazingly lost 3lbs!!!! so i found my happiness on the scales but they arn't so pretty either!!! so when i got home i needed my tea (can't eat before i get weighed!) i discovered it was wine monday (aka no work tomorrow!) please don't get me wrong i very rarely drink during the week but i've had a day from hell, but those scales made it worth it!!! i digress, i couldn't just have wine for tea so i have made cheese n bacon toasties and yes i am allowed them!!! (just maybe not the wine!) Don't you think I tunes can be spooky, i was thinking of a quote to put and I tunes chose for me!!! (it wanted the word to be happiness but who am i to argue with technology!) so I tunes presents Jimi Hendrix ~ Wind Cries Mary! I (ahem) walked the race for life on 15/06/08 and raised £70 for Cancer Research, this and the Wii are the closest i've come to sport in quite a while!!! i decided to drag the wii fit out tonight after months of non-action, but alas the batteries had died with my fathers half arsed attempt to say he'd find me some he sat down put his laptop on dug out some earphones and loads BBC Iplayer!!! so i grabed the batteries out of the old camera and stuck then in the wiimote as that 2 had died!! and had a look to see what games we had. we got a wii a while back and the wii fit when it came out at 1st but we really don't take advantage of it. we've got loads of games and my dad has been to morrisons a few times when they have the cheap game offers on. last time we went he bought Wii Family ski that can be used with the balance board so i thought go on then i'll have a turn and my god is it fun!!! only did single player free style as we only had 2 working batteries!!! but its well good, u can take virtual pics of your mii and get challenges and still i was doing jumps. if u want an arm work out its highly reckomended!!!

My Traditition may seem like an odd one, but its been traditional over the past few xmas'/ motherdays / birthdays to buy a Book by Bradley Trevor Greive. he puts funny words to Funny Pictures the 1st book we got was looking for Mr Right. and loads of B&W pics with funny captions we have also had the Blue Book amongst others i can't remember What io also like about him is that he supports the Taronga Zoo in NSW Australia. Odd you think why would i like a Zoo a million miles from home!! Well when i went to Austalia when i was 15. Not much was open on Xmas day so we went to the Zoo!!! Had my best ever xmas there, yes it was odd not being with the old people but at the same time liberating, we got up had a mooch down to Circle Quay got the Ferry across to the Zoo and the cable car up to the Zoo. i was wearing my Man UTD shirt, got ribbed by the people at the booking offoce as i think they had lost the last match (i hate football now but back then i <3 Eric cantona) We had Hot Dogs for Xmas got chased by Peacocks and other giant birds in the cafe!!! we went to see the kangaroos!!! You went to through 2 security gates and into a path way with all the Kangers. they had grass and trees and things Part way round there was a carpark type security barrier in the middle of a grassy area, with no fence on either side Similar to the below image my mum looked round and said thats not very safe they could easily escape. Quite loudly and everyone turned round. i couldn't answer her for laughing!!! it was only when we got round to the otehr side and we went out throught 2 security gates thats she twigged1!! ok sorry i got side tracked!!! the Zoo was fab really good all the animals where well cared for and i saw tazmanian devils they are soooooooooo cute!!!!

Took a pic decided i hated it feel too bad to take another one so decided to play with it on Fotoflexer couldn't decided which was the lest hideous then discover the dup0licate button so thought i'd share a few different versions of me!!! i have blured the edges on all of them so from the top we have POP ART!!! like this but i have no face (a good thing some would say!) then greyscale, then normal, then cartoon, then ink stamp and finally film grain!!!

I was Strugglinsg a bit with Frencg / France we have loads of Travel books on the shelves down stairs but mama n the cat are asleep in the living room so didn't bother rooting abiut. i was looking for french mustard ... no all we have is English n whole grain and the whole grain has no country of origin listed!!!!! opened the fridhe to see the vino we have (none) and i spot the milk... that doesn't look very british, hmmmmmmmmm could that be of European Persuasion????
